This module for the Advanced Accounting course focuses its attention most clearly on the tax implications of partnerships. It is a clearly written, less rigorous presentation of the topic giving students a realistic and clear picture of accounting for partnerships.
About the Author
Leonard Stokes, Ph.D., CPA, CMA, DABFA is Professor of Accounting at Siena College. He has taught a variety of accounting courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. Dr. Stokes has prepared a variety of supplemental materials including testbanks, end of chapter materials, and supplemental web-based questions.
Professor Stokes has been an active speaker and presenter for local organizations and at American Accounting Association meetings. His areas of research include behavioral issues associated with accountants and accounting firms, how accountants learn, and pedagogy and assessment within the accounting curriculum.
Prior to teaching, Professor Stokes had a variety of professional and entrepreneurial experiences that have influenced his style as a teacher and an author. In addition to working in public accounting for then Peat Marwick, Mitchell & Co and his own firm, Dr. Stokes has experience working for government agencies and manufacturing enterprises. He has also been an active community leader where he has been treasurer and/or president of various non-profit organizations.
