Yes, Even You Can Be a Country Person
Editorial Reviews
Book Description
A hilarious tongue-in-cheek spoof of the current back-to-country trend, disguised as instructions to wanabe country people. Follow the instructions in this book and look progressively more like the back part of a horse's anatomy.
From the Back Cover
Imagine yourself growing up in the West in a historically rich environment, surrounded by lively memories of the Old West. There are cattle mooing, ranch hands coming in after long weeks on the range, corn as high as an elephant's eye, buffalo roaming and antelope playing. Imagine having your own corral full of wild mustangs just waiting to be broken.
With all this going for you, now imagine having a God-given writing talent that everyone recognized and encouraged from an early age.
If you took the time to imagine all of these things, you should be a little careful because you are too easily influenced by the power of suggestion and probably often misled. The fact is that the above scenario bears no resemblance whatever to the author's actual life. Moreover, his "lively" imagination pretty much just irritated his brothers and sisters and annoyed the rest of his relatives and neighbors. But some people still think he's OK.
Now he has aged a few decades and he's starting to get a little bit boring. He has pigs and chickens, goats, and sheep and a garden and some kids. He's a little over weight and complains that his back hurts...and he writes books...and a syndicated column.
And so, even if you are not completely bowled over by this background sketch, unless you have tested humor deficient (H.D.), we think you will enjoy this book. Thank You.
