In this memoir, Laurence Irving recounts his career as an artist, including his work as a designer for such Hollywood films as The Iron Mask and The Taming of the Shrew for screen legend Douglas Fairbanks. After returning to Britain in the 1930s, Irving continued to design theatre shows and films, among them the 1938 adaptation of George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion.
