About the Author
Paul D. Lehrman is one of the most experienced and respected writers in the field of music and audio technology. He has been active as a journalist in the US and Europe for almost 30 years, and has been the "Insider Audio" columnist for Mix magazine since 1995. He has consulted for a number of leading hardware and software companies including Roland, Yamaha, Kurzweil, and Digidesign, and served as an executive director of the MIDI Manufacturers Association for three terms. He has taught courses in music technology at the college level since 1986, and is currently on the faculty of the Multimedia Arts program at Tufts University. He is also a composer specializing in scoring for multimedia, with credits including PBS, NPR, History Channel, Discovery Channel, and France 3 Television. He is the producer and writer of the award-winning documentary film "Bad Boy Made Good," about the revival of the revolutionary 1927 composition by George Antheil, "Ballet mécanique."
