Editorial Reviews
Book Description
As far as I know, nobody thought of keeping a diary during the unforgettable years of our show. As it turns out, it wasn't necessary. Reading his book, I would swear that David had been there every step of the way. It tweaked my memory in wonderful ways and I missed those days all over again. Thank you, David, for your loving commitment to our memory.

Dick Van Dyke

By doggedly going about contacting everyone ever connected with The Dick Van Dyke Show, David Van Deusen has unearthed information and anecdotes about those good old days and the good, young actors and directors who made it work. He has given me a second look at things that I was too busy to look at the first time around and I thank him and his book for affording me that rare and pleasant opportunity.

Carl Reiner

For any fan of The Dick Van Dyke Show, this book is a MUST read. David has captured the soul of each character to a “T.” You will not be able to put this book down until you finish reading it. Enjoy all the wonderful memories!

Rose Marie

To Twilo And Beyond is filled with the personal experiences of us all as we worked together for five gloriously silly years. My “Mary Richard's” hat is off to David Van Deusen for an excellent return visit with family.

Mary Tyler Moore

Cheers to David Van Deusen for keeping the spirit of The Dick Van Dyke Show alive and well. Thanks to him, the world will be able to keep its love affair of DVD going forever. Who know? Maybe the world will even be moved to remember a certain has-been ex child star!

Larry Mathews

Surely the most ardent fan of the DVD Show is that other DVD, Dave Van Deusen. He has kept me trodding down Memory (Bonnie Meadow) Lane for years.

Ann Guilbert

Maybe it was his initials that got David so interested in the DVD Show. We're glad he did. It's a wonderful book and we're so glad his last name isn't Flanagan.

About the Author
Recognized as the “Head Walnut” by Dick Van Dyke and “the other DVD” by Carl Reiner, David Van Deusen has been publishing The Walnut Times, The Dick Van Dyke Show newsletter, since 1995.

Besides Van Dyke and Reiner, Van Deusen has done interviews and established relationships with nearly every member of the cast and crew including Mary Tyler Moore, Rose Marie, Larry Mathews, Ann Guilbert, Bill Idelson, director John Rich, music man Earle Hagen, writer/producer Sam Denoff, film editor Bud Molin, and the now deceased Morey Amsterdam and Sheldon Leonard.

Over the past 10 years, Van Deusen has been acknowledged as an expert on the show, advising on various television specials about Dick Van Dyke and The Dick Van Dyke Show and providing photos and research materials to Image Entertainment and Paul Brownstein Productions as they moved forward to release the definitive collection of the five seasons of The Dick Van Dyke Show on DVD. He has also written and produced a documentary on the making of the famous “It May Look Like a Walnut” episode.

Van Deusen participated in the production of the Emmy nominated Dick Van Dyke Show Revisited special which aired to huge ratings on CBS in May 2004, assisting in the research and development of the flashback clip segments included in the program. He is currently consulting on the bonus footage under consideration for inclusion on the proposed DVD release of The Dick Van Dyke Show Revisited.
